Can’T Miss
Scotland vs Brazil
Group I · Jun 25 · 00:00 (CEST) · Miami
Scotland’s first ever World Cup knockout appearance is within reach. A win guarantees it and could even top the group, while a loss might still carry them through as one of the best third-placed teams, so this is high stakes rather than strictly must-win. Brazil have to match Morocco’s result to finish first, so Ancelotti’s side cannot ease off either. Scotland have been organized and stubborn, and against Vinicius and Brazil’s front line their only road is to sit deep and break. It could be a famous night.

Norway vs France
Group I · Jun 26 · 21:00 (CEST) · Foxborough
Both already qualified, and they meet to settle first place, which matters because the group winner draws a third-place team in the Round of 32 while the runner-up gets a tougher group runner-up. It is also Haaland against Mbappé at a World Cup. Norway’s counter-attacking trap, the one that took Senegal apart, runs straight into France’s high pressing line. Solbakken proved against Senegal that Norway are a coherent system and not just a number nine, and Deschamps will have spent the week building for exactly this.

Croatia vs Ghana
Group L · Jun 27 · 23:00 (CEST) · Philadelphia
Modric’s last World Cup, and his run continues if Croatia avoid defeat. Otherwise they depend on the other results. A draw sends both through, Ghana as runners-up and Croatia almost certainly as a best third-placed side. Ghana have been the surprise of the group; their goalless draw with England was no smash-and-grab, they matched the Three Lions in midfield. Croatia know a heavy loss could still end it. A placing battle wrapped around a genuine farewell.
Uruguay vs Spain
Group H · Jun 27 · 02:00 (CEST) · Guadalajara
Uruguay hold second on the goals-scored tiebreaker over Cape Verde, so nothing is secure: they have to match or better Cape Verde’s result to keep the spot, and a win over Spain books it outright. The problem is the opponent. Spain are the group’s strongest side, fresh off a 4-0 win over Saudi Arabia with Lamine Yamal back in form, and they top the group with a win or draw. Bielsa has built a team that owns territory but barely scores, and this is his last World Cup before he steps down. The closest thing the group stage offers to a clash of footballing philosophies.
Colombia vs Portugal
Group K · Jun 28 · 01:30 (CEST) · Miami
Both are through, so the real prize is the road ahead. Win the group and your path bends toward a softer Round of 16 on the Canada side of the bracket. Finish second and you most likely run into Spain a round later. Colombia top the group with a win or draw; Portugal need the win. James Rodríguez has a Colombia side behind him that has yet to concede a goal, and Ronaldo, now the first man to score at six World Cups, wants a statement before the knockouts. Real stakes dressed up as a dead rubber.
Worth Your Time
Switzerland vs Canada
Group B · Jun 24 · 21:00 (CEST) · Vancouver
The group winner is decided here, and Canada have a real prize attached. The Round of 32 for the Group B winner is played in Vancouver, and the Round of 16 on that side of the draw is in Vancouver too, so topping the group could mean two knockout games at home. Lose the group and they are on the road. Switzerland must win to overtake; Canada need only a draw. The 6-0 of Qatar said Canada belong, and BC Place will be loud.
Bosnia vs Qatar
Group B · Jun 24 · 21:00 (CEST) · Seattle
Not the dead game it looks. Each side needs a win, and the winner reaches 4 points, which would almost certainly be enough to sneak in as a best-third team. So both go for it rather than sit. Qatar conceded seven goals in two games, so the football may be ragged, but the result is genuinely up for grabs and the stakes are real.
Japan vs Sweden
Group F · Jun 26 · 01:00 (CEST) · Arlington
A near knockout for second place. Japan are a point clear, so a draw does the job. Sweden currently top the best-third table on 3 points, so even a loss might not finish them, but a win removes all doubt and could lift them into second outright. Japan shut out Tunisia 4-0 and look sharp on the counter, the kind of game that punishes a Sweden side forced to chase. A clean contrast of styles with a knockout place on the line.
Paraguay vs Australia
Group D · Jun 26 · 04:00 (CEST) · Santa Clara
A clean second-place decider between two evenly matched sides with no global stars but everything to play for. Australia go through with a win or a draw thanks to a goal-difference edge; Paraguay need the three points. The high draw probability in the odds tells you how tight it profiles. Worth it if you follow either side, or just want a knockout-feel game without a heavyweight in sight.
Egypt vs Iran
Group G · Jun 27 · 05:00 (CEST) · Seattle
Iran have to win to survive in a group where Belgium are also still scrapping, and that is where the tension sits. Egypt are all but through on 4 points, but a win secures top spot and a likely first knockout appearance in decades. Salah will sit, which is close to the better story: Egypt advancing without leaning on him. Lower on star power, high on jeopardy for everyone chasing Egypt.
DR Congo vs Uzbekistan
Group K · Jun 28 · 01:30 (CEST) · Atlanta
A live one for DR Congo. A win takes them to 4 points and almost certainly into the knockouts as a best-third team, so they will pour forward. Uzbekistan have to win big to overturn a minus-seven goal difference, which is close to impossible, and a draw eliminates both. Watch it for DR Congo chasing qualification, not for the quality of the football.
Algeria vs Austria
Group J · Jun 28 · 04:00 (CEST) · Kansas City
Second place is the prize, and it carries a twist. Finishing second here means Spain in the Round of 32, while slipping to third, if it is enough for a best-third spot, likely brings a far gentler matchup. So the winner may have argued itself into the harder path. Austria hold second on goal difference, so a draw keeps them there; Algeria, fresh off coming from behind to beat Jordan, need the win. Genuinely open, with a strange incentive hanging over it.
SKIP IT
Morocco vs Haiti
Group C · Jun 25 · 00:00 (CEST) · Atlanta
Haiti are out. Morocco are basically through and could top the group if Brazil slip. Lopsided on every measure.
Czechia vs Mexico
Group A · Jun 25 · 03:00 (CEST) · Mexico City
Not quite dead for Czechia. A win lifts them to 4 points and a realistic best-third chance, and they catch a Mexico side that has already won the group and may rotate at the Azteca. Czechia are underdogs in the match, though, so this sits low on the list.
South Africa vs South Korea
Group A · Jun 25 · 03:00 (CEST) · Monterrey
Korea need only a draw to advance on their head-to-head edge. South Africa must win, and a win would put them on 4 points and a live best-third shot of their own. Some tension over whether Korea hold firm, not enough to clear the evening for.
Ecuador vs Germany
Group E · Jun 25 · 22:00 (CEST) · East Rutherford
Germany have won the group, so Nagelsmann faces the rest-or-momentum call. Ecuador have been the unlucky team of the group, goalless across two games despite controlling long stretches, and a win takes them to 4 points and a real best-third chance. Expect them to throw everything at a possibly rotated Germany.
Curaçao vs Côte d’Ivoire
Group E · Jun 25 · 22:00 (CEST) · Philadelphia
Ivory Coast advance with a win or draw and are heavy favorites. Watch this one for the vibes. Curaçao, one of the smallest nations ever to reach a World Cup, already took a point off Ecuador, and there is real charm in a tiny island scrapping at this level. Sporting stakes, low.
Tunisia vs Netherlands
Group F · Jun 26 · 01:00 (CEST) · Kansas City
Tunisia are gone after conceding nine. The Netherlands are a virtual lock and want top spot, so they may not rotate much, but with Tunisia offering little there is nothing here.
Turkey vs United States
Group D · Jun 26 · 04:00 (CEST) · Inglewood
USA have won the group; Turkey are out. The only thread is which players Pochettino trusts in a low-stakes run-out before the knockouts. Dead rubber otherwise.
Senegal vs Iraq
Group I · Jun 26 · 21:00 (CEST) · Toronto
Both sit on zero after losing to France and Norway, but Senegal are not finished. A clear, heavy win would put them on 3 points and back in the best-third conversation, given the ground they could make up on goal difference. Iraq are the likely casualty. The real question is less who wins than by how much Senegal win.
Cape Verde vs Saudi Arabia
Group G · Jun 27 · 02:00 (CEST) · Houston
Cape Verde’s debut fairy tale, two draws against Spain and Uruguay, could carry them through with a win and maybe even a draw. Saudi Arabia need the win after a 4-0 hammering. A nice story, but two outsiders with the math doing most of the work. Worth the closing stages if it is tight.
New Zealand vs Belgium
Group G · Jun 27 · 05:00 (CEST) · Vancouver
One-sided in the odds, with one thread worth a glance. Belgium’s fading golden generation must win to be safe, and a stumble against New Zealand would be a real story. Otherwise the result lands where the odds say.
Panama vs England
Group L · Jun 27 · 23:00 (CEST) · Houston
Panama are eliminated; England top the group with a win, and Tuchel may rotate with one eye on the rest-or-momentum question. Check whether Bellingham adds to his tally and move on.
Jordan vs Argentina
Group J · Jun 28 · 04:00 (CEST) · Arlington
Argentina have won the group; Jordan are out. The only question is whether Messi plays or rests before the knockouts. A dead rubber unless you want to watch the stars tick over.
